Absence

Rouzbeh arrives in Prague from Tehran in search of his father, a communist exile who once lived in Czechoslovakia. While visiting his father’s former apartment, he is stopped by the police, who are investigating the death of a tenant who, like Rouzbeh, bears his father’s surname. Rouzbeh is thus confronted with a family history of which he had no idea and secrets that are completely at odds with the image of his father as an admired hero.
